Northern Australia offers an incredible range of habitats from lush expanses of dense tropical rainforest to dry endless stretches of desolate outback. We will encounter a fantastic collection of endemic birds and strange mammals, beginning with the verdant rainforests of Queensland where we will search for Victoria’s Riflebird (a member of the Bird-of-paradise family), Tooth-billed Catbird, the rare Golden Bowerbird, impressive Beach Stone-curlew and the outrageous Southern Cassowary! After a day at sea exploring the magnificent underwater riches of the Great Barrier Reef we will then continue to the fabled surroundings of Darwin where we search through a myriad of habitats including the world-famous Kakadu National Park and a boating cruise on the Yellow Waters that literally teem with birdlife! Some of our many target birds here include the endangered Gouldian Finch, Rainbow Pitta, the Brolga (an endemic Australian crane), White-throated Grasswren and the sought-after Purple-crowned Fairywren. Join us traveling through the vast continent of Australia as we seek out fantastic endemics and bizarre wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.

Please note that we are not offering a standard set departure tour to Australia during 2010. We are however still arranging customized private tours to this country and we will gladly assist you in arranging the perfect guided birding or wildlife adventure to Australia for you.
