Rockjumper Birding Tours

Adam Riley has grown up with a lifelong interest in wildlife, which evolved into a particular fascination with the birds, reptiles and amphibians of Africa and Madagascar. Coming from a farming background in the Pietermaritzburg area of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, he studied accountancy and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has traveled extensively in Africa, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Americas, leading trips to numerous countries ranging from South Africa to Egypt, Angola to Ethiopia, and Bhutan to Papua New Guinea. Adam has also guided in the Neotropics for six months. Adam is now one of Africa’s most experienced birders, having recently recorded his 2000th species on the continent. One of his specialities is the KwaZulu-Natal area and he has contributed his extensive knowledge in the preparation of the bird locality guides for Robert's Birds on CD-ROM. Adam is also a committee member of his local branch of BirdLife and regularly gives birding presentations to various groups and schools.
