David Hoddinott has extensive experience guiding birding tours throughout the African continent and Madagascar and is Rockjumper’s most senior tour leader. He has worked as the resident ornithologist at birding lodges in South Africa, Botswana and Ecuador, including an 18-month stint at the world-famous Sacha Lodge, and is now a full time guide for Rockjumper Birding Tours. Known in birding circles for his endless energy and boundless enthusiasm, David is the perfect guide for trips in Africa, Asia and Madagascar. His bird spotting skills are legendary. David is a committee member of his local branch of BirdLife, is a member of the KwaZulu-Natal rare birds panel and has an IT qualification. In February 2010 David reached 2,000 birds in Africa, emphasising his passion and skill in this great continent!
